BODMAS

 

Stands for         Brackets

                        Of

                        Divide

                        Multiply

                        Add

                        Subtract

 

This tells you the order to do calculations if you have a choice: the Brackets first, then Of, then Divide etc

 

e.g.                                                    Brackets first

                                                              then Divide

                       

 

e.g.                                       Multiply first

                                                then Add

                                                            then Subtract
