Fractions

These can be done using the  button. 

 

To enter  you type: 3  4 and the screen will display it as 3 L 4

 

To enter  you type: 5  3  4 and the screen will display it as 5 L 3 L 4

 

To cancel a fraction:

Enter it and then press =

 

eg. to cancel  you type: 8  16 = and the screen will display 1 L 2 ie.  

 

To convert a top heavy fraction to a mixed number:

Enter it and then press =

 

eg.  type in: 14  9 = and the screen will display 1 L 5 L 9 ie.  

 

To convert a mixed number to a top heavy fraction:

Enter it and then press SHIFT and then  

 

eg. to convert  type: 1  5  9 and then SHIFT  and the screen will display 14 L 9 ie.
