1.       Find the value for 1 using the rule:

more                 multiply

less                  divide

 

2.       Find the value for the answer using the same rule

 

eg.  If 3 pens cost 63p, find the cost of 4

 

            3 pens = 63p

            1 pen    =                  (LESS)

            4 pens  =             (MORE)

                        = 84p
