Use the methods you were taught in your primary school

 

Multiplying by 10, 100, 1000 etc

 

Add the same number of zeros to the end of the number

Lose the same number of zeros from the end of the number

Directed Numbers

Add / Take

 

SIMPLE:

·         Find the total of adds

·        Find the total of takes

·         Take away

HARDER:

If there are “double signs” use the rule below to convert them to single signs:

Multiplication

The remainder is the number “left over” after a division
