Multiples

 

Multiples are the times tables of a number  they go on forever

 

eg.        multiples of 3           3, 6, 9, 12, 15….etc

            multiples of 5           5, 10, 15, 20, 25.…etc

 

LCM (Lowest Common Multiple)

 

List the multiples of both numbers until you find the first common one.  That is the LCM

 

eg.        Find LCM of 3 & 5

 

3                3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18

5                5, 10, 15

so LCM is 15
