Plotting Graphs

 

From a Table of Values

 

1.       Look at the table to find the maximum and minimum  and  values

2.       Use those values to decide what scale to use and draw the axes

3.       Plot the points using the values in the table

4.       If the points are in a straight line, use a ruler to join them up

If the points are in a curve, join them with a smooth arc

 

From an Equation

 

1.       From the question find the  values to use

2.       Draw a table of values with the  values on the top row:

 

	1	2	3	4

 

3.       Use the formula to work out the  values and fill them in the bottom row

 

	1	2	3	4
	3	5	7	9
