1. Always draw LARGE and NEAT diagrams. Read through the question and make sure all forces and other information is included.
2. Draw separate diagrams for each part of the question especially if:
a) any of the variables change
b) there are “before” and “after” situations.
3. Always start each piece of working by:
a) listing all known variables
b) writing the equation you intend to use
c) using words to indicate what you are doing.
4. Always write standard equations in their original form. DO NOT rearrange them until you have substituted values:
a) Draw a diagram and list the variables
b) write the equation
c) substitute values
d) solve.
