VECTORS

Magnitude & Direction

The magnitude of a vector a is the length of the line and is denoted by |a|.  This is always found by using Pythagoras’ Theorem.

The direction of a vector  is the angle made by the vector and a specified line (often the horizontal). This is always found by using Tan.
